Recovering from Failure in Temporal Planning
This paper describes an open problem in temporal planning, namely the problem of recovering from failure in collapsing time intervals. We illustrate this problem in the context of the parcPLAN planning system and show its full complexity by combining the problem with resource reasoning. We also summarise some of the progress made to tackle this problem.
متن کاملRecovering from failure by asking for help
Robots inevitably fail, often without the ability to recover autonomously. We demonstrate an approach for enabling a robot to recover from failures by communicating its need for specific help to a human partner using natural language. Our approach automatically detects failures, then generates targeted spoken-language requests for help such as “Please give me the white table leg that is on the ...
متن کاملOn recovering missing values with minimal error
The paper studies frequency criterions of recoverability of a single missing value from an observed sequence. Stochastic Gaussian stationary processes that are non recoverable in this sense are called minimal processes; they have a degenerate spectral density. The paper considers this problem in a pathwise setting without probabilistic assumptions; recoverability criterions are formulated in th...
متن کاملAssisting Human Motion-tasks with Minimal, Real-time Feedback
Teaching physical motions such as riding, exercising, swimming, etc. to human beings is hard. Coaches face difficulties in communicating their feedback verbally and cannot correct the student mid-action; teaching videos are two dimensional and suffer from perspective distortion. Systems that track a user and provide him real-time feedback have many potential applications: as an aid to the visua...
متن کاملOn Recovering from Run-time Misbehaviour in ADR
We propose a monitoring mechanism for recording the evolution of systems after certain computations, maintaining the history in a tree-like structure. Technically, we develop the monitoring mechanism in a variant of ADR (after Architectural Design Rewriting), a rule-based formal framework for modelling the evolution of architectures of systems. The hierarchical nature of ADR allows us to take f...
